Tromsø & Lofoten, Norway
Tromsø sits deep in the Norwegian Arctic, where February brings whale season, snow-covered fjords and long aurora nights. South along the coast, the Lofoten wall rises straight from the sea, with fishing villages tucked beneath the peaks.
Day 1, 12 Feb 2027: Arrival in Tromsø
You are met at Tromsø Airport by your private driver. After check-in at Arctic Panorama Lodge, the evening opens with a six-course welcome dinner at Restaurant Smak.
Arctic Panorama Lodge
Two fjord-facing suites above the water, with floor-to-ceiling views of the mountains across the sound. Breakfast is served in the lodge, and the shoreline sauna is a few steps from the door.
Day 2, 13 Feb 2027: Private whale safari
A full private charter into the whale grounds, followed by a quiet afternoon and a private floating-sauna session in the harbour at dusk.
Whale safari on a silent catamaran
The hybrid catamaran runs electric and near-silent in the fjords, letting you drift close as humpbacks and orcas feed in the winter herring runs. The naturalist on board reads the water and times each approach.
Day 3, 14 Feb 2027: The scenic road to Lofoten
Your driver takes the coastal route south with photo stops along the fjords, arriving in Hamnøy by late afternoon.
Eliassen Rorbuer, Hamnøy
Waterfront fishermen’s cabins on the breakwater at Hamnøy, beneath the Lofoten wall. The cabins keep their timber and character, with the harbour lapping under the windows.
Day 4, 15 Feb 2027: Trollfjord and the northern lights
A sea-eagle RIB safari runs into the narrow Trollfjord in the morning. After dark, your photographer chooses the night’s best aurora spot from the KP forecast.
Northern-lights chase with private photographer
A private chase by car, steered live by the aurora forecast. Your photographer shoots the night as it unfolds and delivers edited prints after the trip.
Hamnøy, Lofoten
